‘The Future Traveller’: TEXTILE DESIGN FOR EVERYDAY WELLBEING IN SPACE 2019

Accompany’- future thermal regulation wearable

This project was begun in February 2019 which is designed in collaboration with partners in the FAIR-SPACE hub Imperial College London. 'The Future AI and Robotics for Space (FAIR-SPACE) Hub. It focuses on the textile design vision and unique knowledge of fibres, yarns, cloth and textile processes to transform future material properties for spacesuit of the future. Basing on the space environment of hot lunar day temperatures. The project investigated and explored the possible new material system to adapt to the body’s microclimate for thermal regulation, considering machine knitting technique as a fabrication method, combined with interactivity prototyping such as motor control.
